Welcome.

My name is Tory, and I’m a doctoral candidate (4th year) at the University of Nevada, Reno.

My research focuses on what motivates people to speak up or stand out at work, and what others in a group or organization learn from this information sharing as well as reactions to it. My goal is to help expand understanding on this type of information sharing so that groups and organizations can ultimately work to improve it, leading to better outcomes.

I also study the use of technology in management research and practice. Current projects look at how the quality of online surveys used in research studies affect participant responses (and therefore data quality), and the use of AI chatbots in human decision-making.

When I’m not conducting research or teaching, you’re most likely to find me rock climbing—where many of my research ideas are born or fleshed out (and thus, the theme of this website.)
